This guitar belonged to Rob Parker and was sold at his estate sale to Allens Music in Paducah Ky. Another steel player agreed to clean it up, but after taking it apart, he became ill and was not able to put it back together. They called me and I called Mickey, and he said he would take care of it. I sent it to him completely disassembled, and in three days he called me and said listen to this guitar, he was playing it. He charged me very little, and sent it back. Outside of him making fun of my Kentucky accent, I think we have a Jewel in the Steel Guitar World with Mickey. Thanks again Mickey, Your Friend Randy Hunt.

Hey all us steel players are just a fair shake away from being a basket-case..ha...>but Mickey certainly proved yet again...what a stand up guy he is and a great mechanical mind for doing this project.
(I'll never forget when Mickey came to a gig of ours and screamed at the opener; to shutup and get the hell off the stage..ha...)..I love it.

Awww, and another birthday present for me!!!....Randy, im glad to hear you're happy with her...!! And thanks for the plug!!...I never heard from the guy regarding the 2nd Mullen he had in pieces...
When this guitar was completed...WOW..another jewel of a Mullen lit up my practice room...This one has a bell like tone!!...Its been very busy here this week. I received yet another BASKET CASE, lacquer 8+8 just a few days ago..I took one look at it it and notified the owner that is was going to take a while....As fate would have it, I couldn't sleep that night, so I was up at 3am and back in my shop, wearing 3 layers of rubber glovers...At 11am that morning, she was finished...and again...turned out fabulous...this was one of the dirtiest guitars Ive ever seen...Nothing surprises me anymore!!! PICS BELOW...#2601
Ricky..Ive seen some horrible openers but that guy took the cake!!....He was drunk as hell to start with...and shouting obscenities at the crowd...And to top it off...He was horrible!!...To make matters worse, he was playing to several of Dallas's finest musicians...!!>...you guys rocked brother!........Peace!

Hi Mickey, A small bit of trivia that may be interesting to you or not. The black and natural guitar was originally mine. I 'm sure you noticed the polished changer fingers. Del did that per my request. Beautiful instrument. I received it new in 1994 while working on Music City Tonight , which aired on The Nashville Network.
You did a great job reviving the ol' girl.

Tommy, thanks for chiming in this thread. I did notice
the polished fingers, and realized that it had to be
factory done. She turned out really good, and I'm sure
the new owner will be absolutely thrilled at its history!!
Happy Turkey Day Tommy!!! Mick in Albequerqe, but
Headed Home!!
