I am trying to solve a mystery about the differences between my Rick B6 (1935-37)and others. Mine had what is almost certainly an old Epiphone pup (thanks to Mike Neer-see other post about Rick pup). Les from Arbutus music here in town said he doesn't think it was ever changed out; original from the get-go. Also the knob looks like an old Philco, not an octagon. Otherwise, everything states it is a first run Bakelite B-6. Here are some pics. Does anyone know of a similar set-up or the identity of the volume/tone dial?

My best guess is that the original knob was broken or lost with time and one was found that would fit and it was installed.

Alot of knobs over the years have met similar fates.

About the pickup, I'd ask Ric Aiello, here on the SGF.
