THANKS so much for the heads-up.....

This young man is definitely MORE than just a steel guitar player........

He's a truly fabulous steel guitar instrumentalist with so much talent and technique at his disposal.....it's almost a religious experience to be able to watch/listen to him play.

This was a truly great selection and I've never heard a version of it that could even begin to touch his class.

By the way, I couldn't help but notice that his bar work is so 'perfectly controlled' as he nails each fret right smack in the center....... it tends to
disprove recent repeated SGF allegations by a certain number of misguided soles........that profess that frets are just there to aim for. Their theory is that one then applies vibrato in order to true-up the accurate pitch that was originally the players hope and design.

Congratulations for another truly wonderful, fully commercial performance.

He even has good taste in his choice of television programs.

I don't think I can add much more after Ray's comments. Very Happy
For sure, Zane is not a follow the leader steel player and certainly does not sound like any other steeler. I have admired his music and talents for a few years now and have marveled at his perfection and tone. Hey is surely a man doing things HIS way. There is always the comments of using the steel in other ways besides country and Zane illustrates this better than anyone I have heard yet. But don't be fooled, I have heard him do some serious, genuine butt kickin country that will knock your shoes off. I think he is still a country boy at heart, but is serious about showing what the pedal steel is capable of and he does it so well. Thanks, Zane, we appreciate your music and your many talents, keep em coming!

Hey ZANE!....

For some of us folks living out here on the LEFT COAST.....it's really difficult to get inside the NASHVILLE LOOP.

While others here on the SGF might very well know your entire life history.......I remain in the dark.
I enjoyed viewing your musical progress on YOU TUBE but would truly be interested in learning more about what you do in the real world.

Any guy like you that is able to enjoy a HUGE music room/studio complete with windows has got to have something going for him.

Do you make your living in musice? Do you maintain a day job? Please, tell us more. We're hungry for details.

I am a left coaster who attended the Texas Steel Guitar Jamboree in 2011. I just wandered into the Jackson room, Zane was in there just absolutely tearing it up. I was blown away, maybe the most memorable part of the entire weekend. Had never heard of him before. When he plays it seems like he is not just going through the motions or just playing what he has worked out. He seems to play around a lot with the song, and I suspect that he doesn't often play things exactly the same way twice. That makes him fun to listen to, he is an adventurous stylist, and I hope to hear a lot more from him in the future.
