Not sure if this subject has been covered before (and not quite where to search if it has) but is there MS Word software for tabbing out tunes on the computer? I don't know Excel and the other places I've tried to find this don't seem to fit the bill. Any ideas?

Many of us use TablEdit, it's the fastest and cleanest way to tab pedal steel. Well worth the $, as it can be used for just about any fretted instrument out there.

You can create a "table" inside of MS word and place tab into it. What you need to do tab in Excel is also very simple and easy to learn in a few hours. I also use OpenOffice which has the equivalent of Word and Excel modules for doing the same thing and it's FREE!

TablEdit is a great solution. It's only around $60.
It composes the music staff from your written tablature.

If you want to see what it looks like, see my recent posting, about a page down, of Curly Chalker's Danny Boy. As you can see, it can handle very simple or complicated pieces.

Just check out tabledit.com

Hope this helps.
