Lenny Breau's daughter also made a documentary bout searching for her father's history and legend. This is almost becoming a sub-genre. Looks like Terry's daughter raised all the cash but no word about progress. Kath has definitely become a footnote. which is a shame as he was quite a prodigious rock player and might have gone on to superstar status had he lived.

wow!! i learned so much from listening to him on records and from seeing him live. in addition to his blistering solos, he was, like all the rest of the worlds greatest guitarists, a master at playing rhythm guitar, an art that is not possessed by many players. to me knowing how to solo and how to masterfully comp the rest of the band is a talent that includes kath right up there with even the great jazz players who do that so well. doesnt matter the style, rock, jazz, country, whatever...if you just solo well thats very one dimensional. kath must have come up through some manner of early playing and listening that made him so versatile.

its so tragic that he is not as well known today.

Don't forget his killer soulful voice.

One of my favorites, Make Me Smile. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enzhOIzpdx0

Great example of his rhythm chops. Their sound on the earliest records still sounds fresh all these years later. Kath plays with absolute commitment driving the whole band.

Kath was almost a footnote in Chicago as they got popular, but in the early pre-25 Or 6 To 4 days he was more up front and the whole band was a monster then. You can hear little Kath-isms in at least one big fan of his music, Jimi Hendrix.
