buy some tracks to play with. I've seen a few
on some sites but I know there are probably others.

Hey Billy, I just got a CD in the mail from Five Feathers Music called "Band In The Pocket". As far as tracks go, this IS the one to get. Live band with no vocals or solos. This CD is really nice and you cant beat it for $15. I got the one with the blues tracks. You wont be disappointed!!!!

I have a CD just about ready to go entitled the "6 Pack x 2". It contains 6 complete tunes and the tracks. The tunes feature the Steel as the main instrument and the tracks are the same tunes without the Steel. The tracks were done in a typical bandstand format, Drums, Bass, Rhythm and Telecaster. Each song does have at least one chorus or verse played on the Telecaster so the Steel can back up another lead Instrument, just like in the real band.
The CD will sell for $10 and includes the following songs:
Long Black Limousine
Tennesse Waltz
Rose Colored Glasses
Take These Chains
Today I Started Loving You Again
Waltz Across Texas
This CD is not about my playing , Lord knows, but rather another venue to hear a version of a tune and then play your own version over the tracks. The tracks were recorded in my small home studio on a digital 8 track with me playing all the Instruments. ( Just a way to play legally on the Telecaster)
It will be available on Thanksgiving weekend.

Tony,
did you set the tracks tune/practice,or all 6 tunes together and all 6 practice?
I burned one of the CDs that I purchased alternating tune and practice tracks together,much easyer to keep up with what you're doing.

Jeffran College has several. There is a series called Honky Tonk Heroes that features singers. If you buy the 4 disk set, you will get about 44 country songs as well as chord charts. Jeffran also sells a larger set of his woodshop series that simply tells you what key the songs are in but does not have chord charts. You can find Jeffran info at www.jeffran.com.
Jeff Newman (Jeffran College) also sells "Jammin Tracks" which is 16 songs with tab and no vocals. They repeat tracks over and over and he has examples of his playing...so you get the track with and then without steel on it so you can hear what he is doing.
Newman also sells individual Woodshed Workshop on casette with tab. These are songs usually with vocals that are rather advanced. They have Jeff Newman playing along, then a track without him playing. They are one song per workshop and as I said, they are kind of advanced.
Full Circle Sound (Billy Phelps) sells a lot of tracks (Haggards, Country 1,2 etc., and a bunch of others). These have no vocals and he provides a chord chart for each song. He has a lot of songs. These are on CD.
Chuck Lettes provides "lessons by mail". These lessons have a tape of rhythm tracks that you choose with some tab. These are usually fairly easy and I have enjoyed using his stuff. The tracks come on casette tape. Chuck has a lot of choices and he gives you tab with the choices.
Tapes and CD's are available on a lot of the particular web sites that are linked. Go to the "LINKS" and look through the vendors.

| John Hughey has a good one available, and Bobbe Seymour has a great one, as well. (These are tracks done with the best musicians Nashville has to offer.) I have bought some "home brewed" things that have disappointed me in the past. My advice would be to listen before you buy. |

Go to pgmusic.com and buy band in a box.you will learn how to put a tunes together and how to build chords structures and you will have a endless supply of tunes.At last count I have about 300 tunes I can play with at any speed or key.I don't sell them.
