The subject of 'parts' on a specific BIGSBY steel guitar have come under scrutiny here in another post and this brought up several off-line discussions involving Rickenbacher steel guitars and others.

Just wondering if you builders might share the
protocal that you adhere to with respect to parts selection and useage without regard to model year changes and/or upgrades?

Do you guys as a general rule, merely use up what you have in stock and then make substitutions thereafter or what?

A lot of folks (me included) seem to place a lot of concern on the red/white/brown or black tone/volume knobs and their shapes in their self assessment of which model year an item might be.

WHAT say you?
