Just visited my good friend Jim Florence. He is not doing too well and the doc says he has terminal cancer. Any cards would be appreciated, he does not have the energy for the computer at the moment. Prayers and Good Thoughts are requested for this steel man.

Jim Florence
614 East Main
Wilburton, OK 74578

I started a website for him this year, but he is not up to finishing it. We have a lot of pictures to scan from the sixties when he did a stint with his band, The Mavericks at the Dunes in Hawaii. But things have gotten misplaced and we may not get to this. Check it out at

http://JimFlorence.Com

Thanks, and God Bless,

Hi All, Just returned from visting with my long time and wonderful friend Jim. I doubt that he knew I was there. The Hospice nurse said she did not think he would make it through the night. He will be in a better place soon. Jim just recently accepted Christ into his life, Amen. Jim has been my mentor and teacher for 42 years and I have many, many great memories with him and his wife Annie. He will be Missed!! J.R.

Jim was a long time faithful member of the Oklahoma Steel Guitar Association. We could always count on him opening our shows with the Star Spangled Banner and a medley of patriotic songs.
Doubt there was any song Jim didn't know.
All of us at the OSGA will miss him, and send our condolances to his family.
Rest in peace brother.
