Had a great time in the studio with John Anderson and producer Steve Fishell this past Monday. John and I recorded the Ernest Tubb classic "Half A Mind" for the Buddy Emmons Tribute. Steve was kind enough to send me a pic so I thought I'd share. John and the entire cast of musicians sounded terrific and here they are. From left to right: Guthrie Trapp(Elec. Guitar), David Hungate(Upright Bass), Bill Hullet(Acoustic Guitar), John Anderson(Killer Vocals), Jeff Taylor(Piano), Myself(Steel), Billy Thomas(Drums), Steve Fishell(Producer). After we cut our track, I stayed around and listened to the great Doug Jernigan record his version of "Buddy's Boogie" and it's well... awesome! An inspiring day of music and fellowship with some great people. Also met forum member Mark Van Allen who was one of our studio guest and I enjoyed talking with him also. Many thanks to Steve for inviting me to be a part of this special project and a day that will live in my mind forever.

Very cool, Buck. I'm sure John was thrilled to record with you as well.

I got a chance to see John sit in with the Time Jumpers May 2011 at the Station Inn, and it was a real treat. One of the vocal greats in country for sure.

When I first came to Nashville in 1982, I toured and recorded with John until 1990 so this was alot like a family reunion for me. John has always been one of my favorite's!

That's right, Buck, I remember chatting with you here about a John Anderson song you played on. I believe it was called "Something You Can Drink About"?

It was indeed a fantastic session, two great solo spots on each of the tunes, so steelers will be in heaven when this record releases!
Really great hanging out with you, Buck, and getting to hear your fine playing.
The whole day was a real treat for me. Here's another couple of shots:
