He'd need two mechanisms, one for the strings, another for the pedals/knee levers.A whole lot more engineering than I could even think about, but it looks doable in theory. |

I think it could work, but it would take two. _________________ Die with Memories. Not Dreams.

Might work for lap steel but the range of tunings would have to be within what the particular string gauges could handle. |

Tt would work great on a lap steel. It most likely works off of a tensiometer any ways to determine pitch. I think it opens some interesting possibilities to change from E/9 to C/7 to ? with the press of a button. _________________ Die with Memories. Not Dreams.

I don't know if that is correct or not. Around the 2:15 mark, I think the guy in the video says that their system is picking the sound up directly from the pickup. Is that how you interpret his comments?

I'm seeing what looks like a hexaphonic pickup near the bridge, like a Roland synth pickup. This would make the job much easier and, in fact, possible. _________________ New FB Page: Lap Steel Licks And Stuff: https://www.facebook.com/groups/195394851800329 |

I probably used the wrong term, what I meant is that it appears to remember any tuning you place on it, so I don't know what logic they are using, but the strings move it is not a matter of altering the pitch after it is played via the pick up. So I don't think it is tuning to pitch as much as a previous position. But I have to admit I am just guessing, anyways it is cool! _________________ Die with Memories. Not Dreams.
