I am thinking of using a 4ohm Black Widow ext speaker with my Roland Cube 80XL,but not sure if it would be a good idea using a 4 ohm ext speaker.

Would it ok?

Jimmy i dont know if you have the older 80 or the newer 80xl but on the xl you can plug the 4ohm into the external speaker out without any problems, it says on the amp 8ohms max and in the book it says 8ohms or less, when you plug a speaker in, the internal speaker and external speaker are wired in series, they dont want you to go over 16ohm total, a 4ohm should give you a 12 ohm load. I have used a 1203-4 with mine in the music room for about an hour with no problems, i did call roland before i did it and they said it would be fine.
