howdy all just thought id plug Mike i just happened to see him play at The Wheel Sat night...all i can say is.. im very impressed..im pretty new to steel (bout 10 months) so to see his poise and how relaxed he played..knowing that all the technical and intricate things of playing steel where being played...all i can say is he made it look easy....anyone happen to know if still does cds....?

Mike is a great player and a teacher. I have five CD's that Mike recorded and he has a few more available. Google Mike Sweeney Music.

+1, Mike's a fine player and a fine teacher. I highly recommend his bootcamp. Do yourself a favor, don't wait years like I did, I shoulda' gone much earlier.

I also concur on how relaxed his playing is - he helped chill me out and learn how to stop playing like a guitar player - OK, I am a guitar player, but one needs to learn to turn that stuff off when needed. He does make it look easy, but it's anything but. 'Nuff said. Smile
