We had a great meeting/jam today featuring Roger Edgerington of San Antonio. Roger plays with the Billy Mata band, Texas Tradition. A pretty good turnout and folks were not dissappointed. Roger plays a Zum, D-10. He did an assortment of traditional western swing, plus a fantastic rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", using both necks. He also introduced an original he sang, "My PSG", or somethng like that. Roger drove a longway and we appreciate his appearance
Also, Bobby Bowman played the new ETS S-10, now being designed and made by Bud Carter and Larry Agan. This guitar has an amazing gloss metalic lacquer. The body is aluminum, so you don't see the usual picture frame edges. The tone and sustain was amazing in Bobby's hands. Bobby is a dealer and you can reach him at 281-856-9453.
Other performers included Billy Phelps on vocals, bass, and electronic drums; Craig Schmidt on a Rittenbury D-10, Larry Schoppe on vocals and bass, Jack Hopkins on keyboard; Patty Phelps on keyboard, and Jim Saunders on rhythm guitar.
Thanks to Billy and Patty Phelps for hosting and Elaine Gondeson for bringing the brownies. _________________ Mullen, G2, D10, Peavey Nashville 112, Roland Cube 80XL, DD3, Goodrich L10 VP. |

It was a pure pleasure and honor to play along side two of the best, Roger and Craig.
My sincere thanks also to Billy and Patty.

Joe Rouse and I made the trip from SA and what a great time we had, and like Bobby said, Roger and Craig and Jim and the band were great. Lets not forget the great Bobby Bowman and of course Billy and his wife Patty for putting it all together. Thank you for a great afternoon of super picking. |

Well Roger as you know by now, your version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow is my favorite song that you play. Your great on anything you play, but that song is just to pretty not to do, when you get the chance to play it.Thanks for sharing it with everyone. |

I sure miss not being able to attend these meetings as much anymore as I used to, but I'm usually on the road coming home from someplace far away these days. I know Roger, Bobby and Craig and all the rest of you guys did a fine job and had fun. Maybe I can make it one day soon...Jody |
