Topic: question for Jackson Pro IV owners |

My BJC has a Pro IV changer in it. I have a half stop on the 2nd string lower and don't know how to tune the 1/2. Any Jackson players that might be able to help me out ? thanks in advance...

I don't have one, but there are two ways of doing a half-stop.
1, if you have split tuning screws, you use the timing of the 9th string: Tune 2nd string open, then tune the C# of the 2nd string with 2nd string nylon nut. Tune 9th open. Tune the D of 2nd string with the nylon nut of the ninth string, then tune the C# of the 9th string with the 9th string set screw
2, if you don't have split screws, there'll be a contraption on the underside that looks like this:
You tune the D by turning the wheel in the picture. While harder to tune initially (you get used to them pretty quick), these feel better, and the firmness is adjustable.

You're welcome. I'm curious which one you have, though (ISTR the Jacksons liked the proper half-stop).

Your easiest answer is to call the Jacksons, or you could watch what happens at the endplate when you activate that lever. Pay attention to what moves at first, and what changes when you hit the half-stop.
Turn the guitar over and make note of everything attached to that cross-shaft.

Never been within 100 miles of a Jackson. But if you have the owners manual? It should cover tuning the 1/2 stop.
If not. Just post a picture of the undercarriage. That will tell the tell.
