Yeah. that is a great video. Nothing like a classic steel into a Fender amp.

Nice playing but you might want to go easy on that volume pedal, that much pumping kind of makes me a little woozy.

Stan, if you do, wear "black" socks. I used to play in my socks and always wore black ones and when you walk across the bandstand in 'em they don't show the dirt as much...... Nice pickin' Ricky, I enjoyed it a bunch...that's the type of tone I love...JH in Va.

Hey! I just saw this. Thanks guys! Really appreciate the kind words.
I'm trying to transition out of the "sock feet", but it isn't working out too well. I just don't get the same feel and connection I get without boots. I've tried and tried with no luck.

Anyway, much appreciated comments!

Hey Cartwright, nothing wrong with the "pumping" of the volume pedal at all, that's the same exact way my hero Ralph Mooney used to use his pedal so Ricky, "Keep it up". Great job!.....JH in Va.

Hey Brandon, have you taken lessons, or have you been learning on your own? One thing I really like about the video, aside from the fact you're playing one of my favorite George Jones songs, is that I can work up a pretty good tab from the way your foot's grabbing at the pedals. I have a pair of "ninja" slippers that provide me the best results, so I feel for you, man.

Socks or not, (in which I can appreciate) I love that style. I almost think that would sound more authentic played on a ZB. That was West Coast all the way as far as I'm conserned. Great Job, wish I could play that style.
by the way, I played for a few years in socks, now I have a pair of black water shoes from Walmart that I keep in my seat. They look like black Tennis shoes but you can feel the pedals as in your socks. Try them out, works great.

Hey guys.. sorry, don't get on here much anymore.

Daniel - I haven't taken any lessons. I started learning by ear when I was 18, so about 7 years now on and off. My Grandfather used to play, that that's his old Emmons in the video, so I guess I just naturally got it from him.

Roger - That is a great idea! I will definitely try that out. Thank you for the kind words, my friend. It's really encouraging.

On the same note, I just recorded a short version of the solo to "Together Again" with the same type of sound the other day. Very vintage, thin, some "bite" to it. You guys might like this too.

I really appreciate the nice comments, everyone. Smile
