Matt, they are real dogs. The worst of the Sho-Bud design. |

They sound wonderful, and they are easy to change copedants on, with their "rack and barrel" "infinite raise/lower" design, BUT they are HEAVY and the cross-over shifter tends to pop out of gear, unless adjusted with extreme precision. Many apparently have gotten converted to "Professional" specs and/or to SD-10s for that reason. Tone has its price.

I played one from 1969 to 1980. It was natural birds eye maple finish.
The guitar was heavy, the changer was OK I think but the pedal and knee lever tuning mechanism was sloppy and not as as accurate compared to top guitars of to-day. That was my biggest headache. It kept slipping out of tune. I have played others (Sho-Bud Crossovers )and they were the same. I could go on but I won't.
I did love the guitar tho.
