My wife and I will be staying in Apache Junction the month of March, 2013. I've heard there is a lot of jaming going on in that area. I'd appreciate any guidance to these. Prefer you e-mailing or PMing.

Thank you,

Geo

Hello George;
I think if you would contact Fred Justice he may be able to help you out..Also Ray Jenkins probably would know. I am about 200 miles away so I do not know.

Thanks Ron, Freds' shop is on the "must visit" list. It's only a few miles from where I'll be staying.

George I spent some time around Phoenix and Scottsdale
Beautiful place.... I will be back there some day.
Be sure to give Fred a visit, and check out David Hartleys new guitar. I will probably be in Dallas in March. When is the best time to call you?

Hey Ted, good to hear from you. I will be staying at Bonita Vista. As for the best time to call me these days, that's anybody's guess. I get home from my school bus route around 9:15 in the morning and Tuesdays and Thursdays I usually have a sporting charter afternoon-evening.

I sure plan on visiting Fred and checking out his steels. I'm a Williams man thru and thru but that doesn't mean I won't try others.

Dave, PM or e-mail me your phone number, I'd like to attend the Phoenix jam, I'll be there from March 1st thru the 31st.

George,
You'll wanna run up to Cave Creek and catch
Danny Sneed at The Buffalo Chip.
An awesome player and friendly guy,
well worth the drive 'up the hill'.
BTW, thanks for the DVD a while back.

Russ, it's always good to hear from you. I will put that on the "bucket" list.

You'r welcome on the DVD, I sure had fun doing that concert, I'm glad I was able to do that with Johnny before he passed away. I had a long talk with him about our old days before the show, there was a few spots where I should have been practicing his songs instead of yaking with him Embarassed Laughing Whoa!

If you are going to be near Phoenix, look up Mike & T. Mike Smith and his wife Tierney perform a lot in that area.

Danny is not always at the Buffalo Chips anymore.

The best way to keep up with Mike Smith & Ms T is their web site

There's pretty decent jamming at Rock Shadows RV park. A variety of instruments and quite a few good players, , it's great fun!

I'll be on the way to Mesa/Apache Junction area soon, still would like to get together with steelers and have a jam. I'm going to miss the one that's held in February, but I'll be in Apache Junction the whole month of March.

Whether it's held at a home, American Legion or where ever will work for me.

e-mail or PM me if interested. I have the phone for a few already.

Thank you Bill, I've got it in my things to do book.

I didn't see on your website if you are open during the week or just weekends, I'm going to be working with "The Out-of-Town'rs" in Scotsdale the 16th, and several of my days and evenings are already taken.

I have a place in East Mesa and there are about 35 jams a week at the various Over 55 RV Parks. A good place to start is on Monday at Sun Life on Universtiy and Higley. The jam starts at 1 but you need to be there by 11 30 or so to get set up....there are 2 steel players there on most mondays. Its a pretty fun jam but only expect to be able to play 2 songs on your turn, as there are usually about 30 jammers. Ask for a lady by the name of Annie and she will give you a complete list of all the jams in that area. I go when I am there but I have my place rented out to the snowbirds right now, and wont be back until the end of March. My personal fav is at Sun Land Village East on Baseline and and Farnsworth between Ellsworth and Sossanman...its on Fridays. I will send you a pm with my ph no and you can call me if you'd like.

George, I'm playing at the Hitchin' Post in Apache Junction every Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. I'm also working at the Buffalo Chip in Cave Creek every Wednesday and Friday night. Danny Sneed works at the Chip the other days. Mike sometimes plays at Harold's, next door to the Buffalo Chip, with a group called New Country. There's lot of good music here. Come see us!!
