A friend of mine has his eye on purchasing a second hand steel ( s-10 3p )that has the brand CMI shown and a little sticker under the cabinet that has Charlie Norris Family on it . I have seen the guitar but have no idea what date it was built . It looks to be in fair condition .I am not familar with this brand of steel .
Could someone who has knowledge of this brand guitar give my friend an estimate of a reasonable price he should consider paying for this axe ? He would appreciate your input . I will pass on any info. offered to him .
Many thanks,
John |

John- I know this much. CMI was the name of the Wholesale Dist. Chicago Musical Instrument Company, I believe they bought out Gibson, then CBS bought them. Right Jody?
The were also handling MSA guitars, and They had all the brochures printed , catalogs etc. goint to go at it big time, then they cancelled the program and really made it rough on MSA to continue. This is just my own observation.....al |

Charlie McGough in Louisana built some guitars a while back under the name of CMI. They were real nice guitars. I played one for about 2 years. Good tone and worked good. Jody. |
