Due to a scheduling conflict our beginnermidiate session has been rescheduled for Sat. Sept 29,
9:30 - 12:00 at the Family Fun Factory. If all goes as planned, we will be working on Rocky Top.

Thanks
Charlie

Yes, the next song we are learning is Rocky Top (thanks to Steve Melchi's inspiration). I think he got everyone fired up with his rendition at our last meeting. Him and Terry Bethel stopped by to make sure we were not sluffing-off. Very Happy It is always priceless to have the pros stop by once in a while and let us pick their brain.

Two precautions before you come to the next meeting.

1. Soak your right hand in warm water with epsom salts for an hour. This will minimize cramping in your wrists and knuckles during the speed picking portion.

2. Rub liniment on your left shoulder to keep it loose during fast bar movements.

There will be a slow, medium and fast version of the song in backup tracks.

Just to clarify... this will be a very basic version of the song but it does have a few challenging riffs for the faint hearted.

Rick, I miss not seeing you. I always liked your playing. Rick, what you really need is Fred Lacy to keep you between the white lines! Ha, Ha, Ha Laughing You know when I played for Fred he fired me, said I played too loud. The next day he called me up and asked me to find my replacement. I called Gary Wilson up and
talked Gary into playing for Fred. Gary has been with Fred ever since. I recently told Gary to tell Fred I got hearing aids and I am now ready to come back. Ha Ha Ha Laughing I've been with the Hearland Band for around 3 years now and we have been working paying gigs pretty steady. This weekend we play a big Show at some Castle down by Seymour. Tell everyone I said hello.

Keith, you are a nut. Smile I can't believe I have not heard you with Heartland yet. I love that band. Between my wife's worklist and the farm chores it is hard to get out at all but I am certainly going to try my best to see you guys soon. I'm still loving my pedal you sold me when I first moved back to Missouri. This beginner's Club that Charlie Steichen has put together is really laid back and we all seem to pick up some new information every meeting to keep us plugging along and smiling.
