The BenRom Blackbird that went to Massachusetts in May was so well liked that I had another order for an identical one. Here we have (of course)Blackbird Too.
This will be a well-traveled steel. It is going to Lofoten, an island off the coast of Northern Norway

I'm amazed Bent, othing short of professional here. How long does it take you to put a guitar together.

This is awesome, Bent.
What is the distance between the center of the changer and the center of the pickup? _________________ 1977 Sho~Bud D10 ProIII Custom; Sho~Bud SD10 The Professional ; ETS S10 5x5;

Daniel, thanks so much.
Chris, you always have some nice words to say..It sure is appreciated.
Per, thanks for your kind remarks. Again, jut to remind everybody, Per is the designer of the BenRom logo. The guy's a pro!
Matthieu, my house and shop is open for you. Hope you can make it!
Stormy, you are always so encouraging. I appreciate your friendship!
Fred, thanks so much. Those are great words to hear from one of today's top builders!
Curt, yes brass in both ends. The fingers are actually 1/4" by 1" brass. Gauged rollers on the keyhead.
Daniel P., Thanks for your nice comment.
Mike, Very fine words to hear, coming from a pro of your stature
Eldon, Thanks buddy. This one (SD10) took me 3 months building from scratch.
Joachim, Thanks so much. Now you go ahead and win that lottery!!
John A., This was Per Berner's idea. Since I feel very much connected to two countries. Per Berner designed the logo to show both the Canadian maple leaf with the Norwegian cross bars in the middle, with both countries' colours.
Peter Thanks! Your kindness is always welcomed.
The distance is 2.4" or 61mm _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

Bent,
I'd like to extend my compliments to you; you have built a great looking and sounding guitar.
Also, I've listened to sound clip on your website and the one you posted for this steel/build. JMHO, but I am hearing a very Sho~Buddish tone in your guitars and I mean that as a compliment! You are definately capturing a pleasantly identifiable tone in your guitars!
Keep up the good work! |

Bent's BenRom single coil on old #4 is the quietest single coil this side o' the Mississippi! (or perhaps the rivers Thames, Euphrates, Nile, or Orinoco, depending on latitude and longitude coordinates) Plays good, sounds good, and stays in tune! I'm lovin' it! _________________ BenRom pedal steel, 1963 Guild Starfire III, Gretsch 5120, S.A. Robelli Strat, Fender 1957 reissue Mex. Strat, Fender Highway One Tele, Schecter Jazz-6

Tommy, Thanks so much for your nice comments. When you say that"Sho-Buddish sound" I do take it as a compliment. Although everyone's ear is different. Like I mentioned earlier, I go a bit on the low side winding my single coil pickups. I like to stay around 13K to 15K OHM . This one turned out 15.6 K
By the way that song was recorded on my Zoom H4 mini recorder. They do an amazing job.
Don't want to take all the glory for the good sound...Dale Rivard is a great player with a fine tone. He plays with a great deal of emotion. _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars
