Steel Alert!

Heybale! drummer, Tom Lewis, posted that Johnny Cox will be playing steel with Heybale! tonight at their gig at The Continental Club, in Austin. They start sometime after 10:00 pm. Sunday, August 19, 2012.

I'd love to hear them, but that show is for musicians, not for day-giggers like me. Way past my bedtime.

-or those who don't have to work on Monday. Keep an eye on the Thursday evening calendar at Sholz Garten, they're doing country honky tonk and swing free shows EARLY. Heybale! just played there this past week, 8:00 pm start, and the Cornell Hurd Band (w/ Scott Walls on pedal steel), played at 6:00 pm kicking-off the evening.

Yep, same here. Nice to know the pros are playing, but I can't do those hours anymore.

You can come hear Johnny Cox shred on the pedal steel at 2 p.m. IN THE AFTERNOON on Sunday, Sept. 9. Mr. Cox will be the featured guest artist at the Austin Steel Guitar Co-op jam at the 290 West Bar & Grill, Austin, TX.
