Does anyone use the Live Wire triple driver in-ear monitors? Are they worth the extra cost over the dual drivers? How do they compare with other brands?
(I tried a search for in ear monitor discussions but the SGF search feature doesn't seem to be as user friendly as it once was) |

Harold, I use Fidelity Duals for in-ears with my steel. Fidelity started out as the Nashville branch if you will of Livewires and decided to go on their own as Fidelity. They are EXACTLY the same as Livewires right down to the connectors so I think I can help you out on your decision here. First, DON'T go with Fidelity, they have numerous complaints logged with the BBB regarding extremely slow or no delivery and poor customer service at best. Go with the Livewires ( same price ) and the duals sound fantastic. They are more suited for guitar players and Kevin Post with Blake Shelton actually recommended them as well. If you can go with a stereo in-ear mix they sound even more unbelievable. Also Carefully cut off the shrink tubing that holds the wire that molds around your ear around the connectors. It looks stupid and is not comfortable at all. You'll be alot happier with that removed. Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the info Michael. The man at Live Wires told me most of the companies that make in-ears all get their drivers from the same place, and the main difference between triples and duals was the triples produce good clean mids. So I guess it depends how important mids are to me to spend an extra $100. |

I get plenty of mids with my duals but I would be curious to hear the trips. Just make sure you get good impressions done. You'll want to use a bite block so your mouth and jaw are at the correct position so you don't lose your seal when you open your mouth. A tootsie pop is the the perfect size for this. |
