Ok, so I got an MPX100 to replace a dear departed Holy Grail.
I spend an afternoon finding a setting that was nice and spacious without getting muddy on fast passages.
Then I took it out to play, and decided to use the tremolo on some piece of Hippie rock. then I was unable to find my reverb setting again.
Knowing that the mix knob, the Adjustment knob and the mode switch all play off each other, I know that it is possible to get some good quality sounds, but I have also found a startling variety of horrendous ones.
once I find a setting I like, I plan to store it and learn how to retrieve it. But usually when I am reading the instructions manual, I am nowhere near the unit and vice versa.
Anyhow, does anybody have any pet settings for a decent reverb? Guidance sounds more effective than random knob turning. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

perhaps I should have searched first and ask questions later.

and several other threads.
I find such a widely variable unit substantially more frustrating than the Grail: With 1 switch and 1 up, you can dial in a great sound, but the rack unit has too many combinations that make you just say " for the love of god, not that sound" _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Lane - I guess you found my settings in the link you posted. I used one of those units for years. It's hard to beat those beautiful Lexicon reverbs. Saving your settings is quite easy.
I sold all my rack-mounted gear quite some time ago. I'm using a Holy Grail Nano for reverb. One knob! Perfect for bandstand use. _________________ Lee, from South Texas - Down On The Rio Grande
There are only two options as I see it.
Either I'm right, or there is a sinister conspiracy to conceal the fact that I'm right.

I was using an original holy grail. 1 knob, 1 switch. To switch from the fast songs to ballads, I would just switch between hall and spring; I never touched the knob at all.
But mine died. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
