I believe that it is Russ Pahl. The Show Pro guitar that he is playing is truly unique. Notice the double pickup configuration with the blend knobs on the rear deck. Also you may have noticed that he is not using fingerpicks.

I've always wondered who that was...what a great solo! It ticked me off that Vince didn't introduce him along with the armpit guitar players.

OTHER VIDEOS OF THIS SHOW ..... have Jerry Douglas with a square neck Tele just a rockin ! Cool ..... if I remember right that was on Tulsa Time w/ Sheryl Crow singing
