I been working without a 9th string drop for a long time now because i like my adjustable 1/2 stop on string 2...
Many like the Emmons lick on string 9/8/and 6 with the 9th drop at the end for a sweet resolve...I do this;

Pick 9/8 and 6 on the 5 chord [G chord at 3rd fret for key of C] then all in one move, Raise the E's and press pedal B or both for comfort, and do a forward slant. The tail of the bar will be at fret 2 of course!

Hitting half of the F lever sounds tricky.
Personally, I like, for a G7-C resolve, hitting strings 5X&8 at the first fret, and nearly simultaneously releasing X and engaging the D# lever.
If you don't have X, then open (the bar on the strings, but at the roller nut), strings 5&8F, sliding up to fret 1, strings 5&8D#

F lever raises E-f lane...I'm lost with letter X...I like your post's by the way, it's a shame we don't live closer, we think alike!!

One 'extra' cool move is to back the bar up one fret and raise the E's [ G diminshed 6th] and then press pedals and slant!

Jeff Newman, for reasons known only to him, called the lever that lowers the B strings to A# the "X lever."
I don't know where in Nebraska you are, but I think I'm playing in Luray, KS on September 1
