My grandfather was in this Southern Gospel group in the early 80's called The Songmasters. Doug Jernigan played on the album titled "Just Plain Old Gospel". Here are some songs from that album. I'll post more later.

The Songmasters - "Lay It Down and Leave It" (My grandfather sang the lead vocal on this song)

No problem. I'm proud to say my grandfather was in this group and played bass guitar on the recordings. Smile

Here's the 1st Songmasters album that my grandfather played bass and sang on...

This album was recorded around 1980 or 1981 in Nashville with studio musicians. I don't know who the steel guitarist was for this album. I'm in the process of trying to track down a copy of the LP to get that information.

The name of this album was "Leaving On My Mind"...
