I met Chuck while he was working for Ernie Ball in Newport Beach, California. They were working on different models of steels at the time. I remember one day I was over there at the shop, and Julian Tharpe came in an tried out one of the single 14 String models they had set up.. WOW, what a picker he was... Two good friends of mine worked there at the time. Bob Rennie was the production manager, and Dick Hiscott was one of the designers as well. Both were very good steel players... I think that Bob Rennie actually worked some with Larry Bales.. Can you imagine? Chuck didn't work ther too long. I remember he left there to go up to Oregon to work for Sierra.

Chuck was a master steel guitar builder and innovator.
That would be enough but he was a major influence on several top steels of his time as well. Chuck also has a steel player son that anyone would be proud of...David Wright.

Bob was a real good fried of mine, and if you recall, one great C6th player as well. Not to say his E9th was not good, it surely was... Bob passed away many moons ago.. I'm sorry to say We all miss him alot.
