Hi, Peter, I've used my SlideRig a good bit with both pedal and lap steel. It definitely does the advertised "Lowell George in a box" thing well, which for me is a real standout with lap steel. On pedal, for me at least, I find enough sustain and "hang" in the instrument itself that I don't really want the increased sustain the SlideRig provides, but that's mainly because I pick up my lap steel when I want to go for rock/blues sustain styles. I think for many people the Cali one channel version would do everything they need on pedal, unless you need the advantage of the two channels for presets. Great units! _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

Thanks Mark,
that is more or less what Simon of Origin Effects told me.
Does anybody else use the SlideRig? |

I use the slide rig with lap steel and find it the most box of fun I have ever purchased. The sustain "clean" hangs in for a long time and can be manipulated with your vibrato with the bar. I have not used it with my pedal steel but plan on trying it with my Weissenborn shortly. I'll comment when I try it out.

This is on my "need to have" list...first I have to get the Retro Instruments 176 compressor, which unfortunately is 10X the cost of this one... _________________ John Macy
