Keith, or anyone who knows, my Hilton VP won't hold in place when I take my foot off the VP to engage pedal 8. What do I need for the two allen head screws, so to tighten them up, so the VP will hold in place? Thanks

That's not how it's done....pick up your Hilton Pedal, looking at the rear of the pedal while it is full ON...look inside the pedal and you will see a spring loaded screw on the left side of the rear end.
Turn the screw clockwise to tighten the clutch and counter clockwise to loosen. Make small adjustments to get it to remain where you want it. That should do it.

Roger that's the off point screw. That's not what I'm talkin about. I want to tighten my volume pedal up so when I have it at a certain volume, I can take my foot off the pedal and it stays in place. I thought that's what the screws on each side were for.
Confused

I think the screw that Roger is referring to is inside the pedal, not on the bottom plate. You should be able to see it if you push the pedal to its full "on" position and look inside the rear end of the pedal.

Roger is correct for pedals made after January of 2007. Pedals made after January of 2007 have an adjustment on the clutch spring, which can be accessed from inside the rear of the pedal. For pedals made before January of 2007, there was no adjustment to the clutch spring. I might add that none was needed on these pedals, these were the heavy cast pedals.
Here is what to do on pedals made before 2007: Take the hinge bolts out and separate the top and bottom halfs. Wipe ALL grease off of the plastic piece attached to the spring, and also wipe all grease off where the plastic piece moves on the top part of the pedal. Do NOT add any more grease. Remove the bronze hinge bushings, and install rubber O-rings on the hinge bushings. Correct placement of the O-rings on the bronze hinge bushings is critical. These rubber O-rings are CRITICAL in the operation of the clutch. The rubber O-rings apply tension to the hinge bushings and take up slack. Put the pedal back together and lightly tighten hinge bolts. If the correct O-rings are used, the clutch has the proper spring attached to hold the pedal in place when you remove your foot. If the spring has ever been altered the pedal will not work properly. We went from cast metal pedals to sheet metal cut out with laziers in January of 2007. With the sheet metal pedals we found an adjustment on the clutch spring was needed. If you can not get the pedal to stay in place when you remove your foot, I repair pedals. Contact me at klhilton@aol.com for information about sending your pedal in for repair.

Ok, thanks Keith, my pedal is probably a 2004 or 2005, so I might try the o rings. If I can't get it to work, I may just send it to you and let you repair it. Thanks again
