I am fairly new to PSG and gigging 2 or 3 nights a week. I got a heavy foot and I keep breaking the little ball joints off the pedals. Can someone tell me where to get them? This is an older MSA that was overhauled by Tom Bradshaw . He doesn't have any he will part with. Thanks for any tips. I'm trying to lighten up. I told the singer to stop egging me on! I always bust something when I get excited! Thanks.

I am on the other left coast so I can not suggest any local to-you places to check out. However help is a phone call away.

A call to Billy Cooper at (540) 854-5940
or
a call to Bobbe Symour at (615) 822-5555

WIll probably get you the parts which you need shipped to you soon after your call.

There are two threaded holes in the MSA pedals, the ball joint threaded end can be put in either one of them; but, if you look closely, you will see that one of the holes has a set screw down inside it. This screw is what actually holds the pedal to it's shaft. That makes the hole shallower. If you put the ball joint in that hole, it will not screw in all the way, there will be a small gap between the ball joint screw flange and the pedal. That's why they are breaking. They should be tight up against the pedal. If you want to use the hole with the set screw, you can grind the threads shorter on the ball joint screw, or maybe put a couple of washers between it and the pedal. If you leave them with a gap, they are guaranteed to break off. Tight against the pedal, the weak spot is eliminated, they won't break. You will need to buy a complete new ball joint to replace the broken one. Michael Yahl sells them, http://www.psgparts.com/Hardware_c15.htm or any of the shops that specialize in selling steel guitars, check the links secton.
