This is a great looking guitar and sounds good too. Purple heart on the front and back and maple on the top.

It's a cowboy thing, Peter. The name, while being a portmanteau of the founders' names, sounds like "Rustler," someone who steals someone else's cattle.
The guns imply that old west vibe, even though modern cattle rustling is done with a tractor-trailer. I guess they didn't want to use that red Peterbilt oval Laughing

"Portmanteau" is a most excellent word. Smile

Trademark issues.

I imagine that chunk of purpleheart cost a bit; it's usually used only for small trim. Even more beautiful in a large expance.

It's was a bit of a culture shock to me when I saw the logo, it's so alien to own a gun in the UK, yet quite normal in the US.

My personal opinion is that it's not a good idea to feature guns on a pedal steel logo, and could inhibit sales, but that's just me, YMMV

Very Happy Laughing
And sometimes the lead player Oh Well

And Richard, guns are a big part of American culture, most of us have five or six.

I have an Emmons LeGrande II that is just the opposite. It has a purple heart top and the aprons are flame maple. Beautiful guitar.

Very well built steel guitar and has very desirable tone and appearance. I especially like the pistols used as the logo. Maybe a couple of Colt 45's ? I believe they call it the "gun that won the west". Very Happy
I saw on the Russler website that they will have some of their steels to demo at the Ozark Steel Guitar Jamboree, at the Branson Community Center, on
07/26-07/28, be sure and check um out.

I really like these guitars. But the fact of the matter is i just invested over 4K in a rack system. May have to wait and see if Santa brings me one. If he doesn't, may have to spend the rest of my kids inheritance. Mr. Green Embarassed
