I just found this really good, commercial country tune on my computer. I don't remember who sent it to me or how it came to me. Does it belong to one of you, perhaps? Anyone heard of this tune? It has some great tasteful steel in the background, good concept, good lyrics, excellent vocal.

No, it's not this cheezy novelty tune, but thanks for the effort of looking around for me. It's a serious country tune with high production values.

I could, but I'm uncomfortable doing so, not knowing whose it is and whether it's already out in the public domain...

There's a contemporary country tune called "This Side Of Green Grass", by Bud Powell (and there's an old jazz pianist with the same name). I've only heard the song once or twice, but it did have some pedal steel in it.

Stuff that's in PD must usually be very old (well before the pedal steel came along).

Yup, Cal, that's the one. Thanks for solving the mystery for me. Good tune, nice steel work!

You must have sent it to me a while back, though I can't seem to recall the circumstances as to why (do you?)

Thanks again,

Jim

Now that I think about, weren't we testing Dropbox one night to see how it worked?

Ah, that must have been it, because that's where I found it: in my Dropbox folder! OK, thanks again.
