Could anyone who has a copy of these three instrumentals please put them up for all to hear.....IMO these performances are too brilliant to be lost with time. I lost my copies back in the 70's.
Buddy Emmon's from a Starday compilation LP "Singing Strings" and Shot and Buddy, from the same series of Starday instrumantal LPs, version of "Salty Dog".
Pete Drake "For Those That Cry" ...IMO its near the top for one of the most beautiful and haunting ballads ever played on steel guitar.

Buddy was a genius all those 50 years ago - so much soul in his playing. His touch and tone was excellent even then, and he has just got better and better. Love it! "Singing Strings" Is A Nice Slow, Soulful Tune.
The Actual Name Of This Tune Is "La Golondrina"

Yes, "La Golondrina", Spanish for "The Swallow". The song was purportedly written to mimic the soaring and diving of those graceful little birds. And for one, I believe the melody does so with profound accuracy.
Kudos to a "youngish" Buddy for doing such a beautiful and artistic job...with what, two pedals and one lever? |

Early Aussie rocker Johnny O'Keefe had a huge hit with "She Wears My Ring" (Singing Strings) released in March 1964.
O'Keefe, was the first Aussie rock artist to tour the USA.
