Saturday the 7th of July my wife and I decided we'd don our "tie dyed" T-Shirts and hop on the motorcycle and attend the CS&N Concert at the Intellos Pavillion outdoor facility. I've loved those guys since the sixties but haven't thought much of them lately as I've been playing mostly country for a long time now......... Anyway, I was throughly blown away by the show. They started about fifteen minutes late but It was well worth the wait. They still have it folks and whoever was on the board did one fantastic job.... Steven Stills was just a hair off on his vocals a couple of times but not too much to take anything away on his lead guitar work. I was very much impressed with his pickin' to say the least. He played mostly a couple of Stratocasters but on some of the older things he brought out his trusty old Gretsch White Falcon which had "tone to the bone". My favorite of his was "Love the One You're With"... He nailed that one and the other guys harmony really put it over....
On a lot of things David Crosby and Graham Nash did two part harmonies together that were works of art. David's voice especially was in rare form which to me was surprising as I've heard he hasn't been in the best of health lately and Graham was right up there with him........ When I see a "vintage" act live I usually like to hear just their "gold" but they brought in some new tunes here and there throughout the concert and I'll have to admit that they were very good and if they'd been released in their heyday they're have been surefire hits!
All said, if these guys come to your area and you get a chance to catch the show, do it, they've still got it going.........JH in Va.

 Great decision, Jerry.
Many years ago I had front row/center seats for CS&N here in 'lulu, got some cool pix during the show, and they were typically terrific. At one point, Stills played a great solo on his LaBaye 4x4 right in front of me, then for whatever reason smiled, winked, and pointed to me. I hate it when they do that. |

I just checked their tour schedule and they're not coming East at all! 
(Of course, I did fly to Oakland for the reunion of Buffalo Springfield, so it's not out of the question...)

That was my impression too, when I saw them back a few years ago. But the higlights for me were him on the piano singing Old Man Trouble, and Crosby, Nash singing Guinnevere with only himself (Crosby) on the acoustic.
Btw Brett, do you know the name of the Phil Collins song with the nice twelve-string? I could swear I heard it once on the radio.
