Who was the steel player for Robert Booth, and who was playing for Buck Owens tonight on Hee-Haw?
Booth's steel player was tall and lanky, dark hair.
Buck Owen's was blondish color hair, very young. Don't think it was Brumley.

I had the same questions, especially about Buck's player. Do you think that episode was in the early 70's?

Niels, I think it was a very early episode, not sure of the year, but I do think it was one of the early ones. I'm thinkin Booth's steel player might have been a young Stu Basor,(just a wild guess) don't know about Bucks steel player.

I believe that was Jerry Brightman Backing Tony Booth on Key's in the mailbox. Jerry also played for Buck Owens during those years.

Yes, Jerry Brightman. I believe he also did an album with Tony Booth. "Keys In The Mailbox".

I thought I would share these photo's taken at The Buck Owens Ranch Show in 1972. The Hee Haw show from this past week was done in 1973.

That would be Jerry Wiggins on drums, and Doyle Curtsinger on bass. Let me say here that we had Jerry as a featured artist on one of our first steel shows and he was a blast to have with us. Then he got busy and we just have never been able to get him back.

Hi Jerry, you played steel with Gene Walker, and I, at the Rose lounge in Copley, before you went with Buck.

I don't get much time these days to visit the Forum , but I wanted to thank everyone for the emails and comments. There seems to be about two more years of shows yet to come that I was on during the Hee-Haw years.
