HIGHWAY 40 BLUES - Ricky Skaggs (Larry Cordle)

Code:
INTRO:    (E Steel pickup)    F#m    B    E      G D A E

E                                       F#m               B                                               E
Well these Highway Forty Blues,    I've walked holes in both my shoes.
                                                       F#m            B                                                  E
Counted the days since I've been gone,     And I'd love to see the lights of home.
                                        A        B                                                 E        B
Wasted time and money too,  Squandered youth in search of truth,
C#m                             F#                                           B
But in the end I had to lose Lord above I've paid my dues
                                    E          G D A E
got the Highway Forty Blues.

The highway called when I was young, Told me lies of things to come.
Fame and fortune lies ahead, That's what the billboard lights had said.
Shattered dreams my mind is numb, My money's gone stick out my thumb.
My eyes are filled with bitter tears, Lord I ain't been home in years,
Got the Highway Forty Blues.

SOLOS  (2 verses)

You know I've rambled all around, Like a rolling stone from town to town.
Met pretty girls I have to say, but none of them could make me stay.
Well I've played the music halls and bars, Had fancy clothes and big fine cars,
Things a country boy can't use, Dixie Land I sure miss you,
Got the Highway Forty Blues.[/quote]

This is pretty standard, I just cant't get it to format properly, maybe someone can straighten it out for us. Very Happy

How do you get BIAB to do the punches on the G-D-A-E chords? Using pushes, I can only get it to do three of them on G,D, and E.

I would also be very interested in a BIAB track for HWY 40, or instructions as to how to enter the pushes. I have tried have not been successful. Thanks in advance for any help.

Anyone who wants a copy of highway 40 blues, shoot me an email and I'll get it off to you. I don't check the forum that often so email would work best.

It's in the key of A.

Make sure to let me know what format you want it in, ie:

BIAB, midi, or mp3
