Went to see the Time Jumpers last night... it was my first time to hear Tommy with this wonderful group. What can I say except this man has it all! Precision, Creativity, Blinding Speed and a whole lot of SOUL. We visited briefly before and after the show and his playing is only matched by his character and graciousness. Thank you Tommy for an inspiring evening of great musicianship and fellowship!

It's a shame the Time Jumpers can't find a good steel guitar player. They've had to put up with Johhny Cox, John Hughey, Tommy White and that Franklin fellow. Laughing

Boy I wish I lived close to Nashville. Mad

I just landed an MSA SuperSteel that was originally Mr. White's, a black 12-string that he supposedly played on the CMA Awards in 2008? 2009? It's a real sweetie... but after minutely searching the case & guitar, I still haven't found the "talent" module? Maybe it jumped ship. I was explaining this to a friend but he just started babbling the P-word.

In addition to those great players they have also had one Buck Reid depping with them. Buck, you did a pretty wonderful job too. I didn't get the opportunity to see the TJ's with Johnny Cox, their original steel player, but have seen every other player mentioned with them. They all bring their distinctive talents to the band whenever they sit in, and although it is primarily Paul's gig, whoever is sitting in does a fabulous job.

Buck - Tommy and Paul are both incredible players in terms of technique, tone and sheer musicianship, but you are up there too man. Like both of them, you are very modest and very approachable.

If I went to see the Time Jumpers and Paul wasn't playing, I would be disappointed. Unless I found out that Tommy White or Buck Reid were playing. Smile

Dan, The first four times I saw the Jumpers, I was treated to Doug Jernigan, Tommy White, Johnny Cox and John Hughey. Since then, besides Paul, I have seen Buck, Terry Crisp and Mike Johnson. I heartily enjoyed each and every one of them. One of the biggest pluses of living in Middle Tennessee. Awesome players and an awesome band.

Here ya go David you can have mine, but don't get your hopes up. To play like T Dubya you pretty much have to actually be T Dubya!

Congratulations on the MSA SS!

Did ya catch Tommy playing on the Lionel Richie tv special a few weeks back? It was fantastic! Glad I recorded it. Tommy's playing will make you proud to be a steel player, even if we don't play at his level.
Lionel R., by his reaction, seemed to really enjoy what Tommy was playing. The best steel I've heard on a nationally televised show in a loooong time.
