We went to see them last night at the Crystal Palace. That was really amazing to me as I had never seen them together live as a band. It was exactly what you would expect from a DRB concert -- incredible playing and singing from everyone, and although they don't play together that often, the ensemble felt very natural and smooth. The overall vibe way really laidback and cool, and the joint was jumping.
JayDee, of course was amazing. Hearing him play all those hits was honestly incredible, but I have to say his playing on their version of Together Again just knocked me out! As always, his tone, his phrasing, the emotion he puts into it were just killer.
A bunch of LA cats were there too, I'll let them chime in.
Man, whoever is into california countryrock and wasn't there last night really missed out on an incredible night. |

As I wrote in one of the other recent threads here about DRB which will no doubt resurface (no-the dreaded multiple topic syndrome on the same subject!), I've seen them twice in the past few years and they were great.
Even not being around each other very often anymore and only getting together occasionally (except for maybe Chris & Herb), these guys are such fine musicians and consummate professionals that it's like watching the musical version of a Marine Corps drill team. _________________ Mark |

Rex, JayDee was playing a black D-10 Emmons push/pull, and sounded just great. |

What a great night... great music, and old friends, both onstage and off.
JayDee played his Emmons thru 2 Evans amps...and what's not to like about JayDee? The band played great, as to be expected, and I hope they do more gigs so more folks can see them.
A good time was had by all... Besides Stephan, there was Peter Freiberger, John McClung, Frank Carter, Larry Petree, Ron Finn, Jim Baron, and I'm sure a few others who'll be miffed at me for forgetting to mention them... |

Skip it sounds like you could had a steel guitar jam with all those Steel Family members that were there.
Wished I could have made it - but a little far from Phoenix and I have seats to build.
