Music Row Magazine (June/July 2012) has published their Top Ten Album All-Star Musician Awards. 55 albums went Top Ten Billboard in 2012. If a musician plays on a Top Ten album he is awarded one point and these points are added up to determine the Music Row Magazine All-Stars. In the Steel Guitar category - Paul Franklin got 14 points with Dan Dugmore and Michael Johnson tied at 11 points and Russ Pahl with 8 and Scotty Sanders with 5. Hats off to these "A" Team Players:

Thanks for posting this. At least one publication gives a tinker's damn about recording musicians, esp. steel guitarists.

It was amusing to see local Seattle boy (Matt Chamberlin) listed as the #4 Nashville drummer.

Can somebody tell me about Scotty Sanders? Surprising to see the number four guy be somebody I'm unfamiliar with.

Thanks,
Joe

I remember the band Bering Strait but I don't remember Ilya. Either he's been flying under the radar for a long time or I'm really out of touch. Probably the latter…
