Just a heads up for the Aussie steel show to be held in Brisbane, Queensland on the weekend of 23-24th June.
This is always a great steel event and well worth patronising -- so all you Aussies and Kiwis, get off your bums and make your way to Brissie for a great weekend of steel guitar music and hospitality !

Well done Paddy. Graham I and will man the door again so please say Hi if you are a forum member as well. Will be great to put a face to some names that come up here on the forum. I have booked my flights and will be there ,look forward to meetin ya.And catching up with noel and shirley anstead who built my guitar
some 28 years ago.
I cant wait to talk the the players about the steel and learning some new tricks.

Sadly, I'm going to miss this years show Paddy. There is a great lineup this year. I'm sure you will have a ball. A repeat of the battle of the "Zum Steels" between you, Bob, Ivan and Warren and maybe some new ones?? I'll be there in spirit.
I'm going to be in the Northern Territory visiting Uluru (Ayers Rock),Kings Canyon, and the Olgas. This is going to be my way of celebrating my 60th birthday. We have lived here in Australia for almost forty years and these are a few of the iconic places on my "bucket list" that I've not been to yet. The time seems right to do it.

Jeff Hi, there was a lots of confusion last night about Gary Brown passing away, Just that you all know , This is a guitarist Gary Brown from Tamworth that has passed away, not Gary Brown - dobro player extraordinare from Sydney , this caused a lot of confusion last night with our local steel players !

Hi Jeff yes I got an email from Tomi this morning about Gary - I was quite shocked to hear that -- was he ill ? or was it something quite sudden ?

Thanks for that Tomi, I should have realised that there may have been confusion from my scant information .It's strange that when you type a e-mail or similar, you 'project' your thoughts into that e-mail without it coming out in the words necessarily , you just assume everone "knows". My sincerest apologies to any one who was alarmed or distressed from this.
