There should be a serial number stamped in the underside of an endplate.

I have gone to the Emmons web site several times and emailed them with serial numbers and asked them the history of the guitar. They have responded every time with date of build and what type of guitar it was when it left the shop...J

I have the identical guitar, serial number L473L. It was built in January 1987. Nice guitar; good tone and pretty lightweight, although it does suffer from a bit of cabinet drop...

I would love to add a fourth pedal to the Legrande above; anyone know how to find the parts?

Nice guess Bobby. Emmons says Aug,4 - 1986. Sounds like you know something about the Serial # sequence/coding.

Well, hey Ray...I don't know man, I always liked Royal Blue. But, the attraction to Black has been strong in me. My truck is black, my Steel is black, my hat is black, my boots are black and my wife is.....well, she's a damn good cook. So keep on pickin' miss "Royal Blue." She sounds like a sweet gal....Peace

That is very nice to hear; I was in my early twenties when we recorded that album at Bradley's Barn in Nashville...when we arrived for the session, Marty Robbins was asleep on the couch. Did you notice Larry's second album on the floor in the steel photo? Pure coincidence. Have you ever heard that one? Has some pretty amazing people on it with us...

Thanks Again,

Gary

Gary, I remembered your name from the "a.k.a. Lorenzo" record and that album on the floor was the thing that made me sure that you were the player. No I haven't heard it.
I remember reading an article in a German magazine called Taxim about members of the Call and Moby Grape, if memory is correct, and your name was mentioned also.
Thanks for the reply!

Bob,
I have a Black Emmons Legrande "SKH" D-10 serial #75L, it was sold to me as a 1984 year model. Best sounding steel I have.

Joachim,

Hey, good memory! The album on the floor is Larry's second album as I said...out of print, but if you would like I might be able to send you mp3's of a few cuts. Yes, I played six-string guitar with the late Michael Been in the band just before The Call...what an incredible guy and musician. I also know Jerry Miller from the old Mobey Grape band; he is quite a player also.

Let me know if you are interested in hearing more Hosford music.

Best,

Gary, I would contact Jerry Roller about the fourth pedal parts. He's a forum member and a great guy to deal with.
