I've been blessed with the ability and
determination to learn and play several
different tunings. I play S-12's,D-10's,
pedals and non-pedals. I have also been
very fortunate to work with many "big-
name" artists through the years. I do not
say any of this to boast, but it has given
me many unique experiences. During the
years that I worked with the great singer,
Jack Greene, Jack, the band, and I crashed
a Willie Nelson Concert. We simply walked
out on the stage, during his concert, and began to play along with him. I sat down at
Tom Morrell's D-12 MSA and quickly asked him
about his setup.
he explained that the back neck was a Bb6th
and the front neck was tuned like the strings
on a regular six-string guitar with out-of-
sequence strings above and below. I found two
strings that I could relate to on his guitar
and proceeded to make a fool of myself.
Does anyone out there (Even you, Tom!)have
the tuning and pedal setup he used on that
front neck?
