Yup, that's me. I'm the one on the left, for those of you who can't tell.
Twangfest 4 was an incredible event; three nights of various "alternative country" bands, uniformly good. The headlining acts were the Lonesome River Band, Wayne Hancock, and Bill Kirchen (all three excellent). Other highlights included Tift Merritt and the Carbines, the Sovines, Tim Carroll, Fred Eaglesmith, Walter Clevenger & the Dairy Kings, Red Meat, and Naked Omaha.
It's amazing how much good music there is out there that you don't get to hear.
Steel content: I got to play lap steel with a group called the Buck Shots (doing "classic country covers") and to play resophonic guitar (a nice Tut Taylor model) at the Twangfest Picnic.

I wasn't "caught without a guitar", Ted. I brought my Fender Deluxe with me on the jet, but borrowed the Tut Taylor. It's far easier to get around with a lap steel than with a resophonic guitar (or any other full bodied guitar).
