Hey Everyone,
I just joined in on the fun. Some of you guys I had the privelige to meet at the Dallas show - wow all those nice people and they play music - it is like a two for one sale. I play guitar, a little bit of weissenborn, and am learning the resonator guitar. You can check out my videos at: http://www.youtube.com/user/slidetrout
Remember - Play loud, play often.

There can be limitation to "play loud" but there's no limit in playing often!
I'll get back to my old habits of having an instrument (in this case a lap steel) that is always somewhere around to grab and play. |

Kevin and Brad - Dallas was a great time, especially meeting and playing with both of you. I'm hoping I can get back next year.
Dan - Play loud, play often is a catchphrase I use with some of my buddies. However, I agree that playing loud can be very annoying to those around you. A friend of mine helped me out one time and told me to turn my amps up until it was too loud. Then he said, play softer and you will sound smoother. I often plug my weissenborn in and crank it for this very reason - it will smooth out your playing. Works good for guitar too.
Steve - Praise coming from you (especially the KJP comment) is high praise indeed. I grew up in Athens and after finding you on youtube (maybe a year ago) I was like "Where was this guy when I was growing up trying to learn???" Every time I listen to your videos you blow me away. By the way, for some reason I can't hear the Sweet Georgia Brown video? Maybe it is a mobile phone issue? |
