| Pretty new to the pedal steel world and would love some advise as to amp preferances. I have been playin' through my 4X10 Fender Deville which is fine for practice but know there's better out there. Any Idear's? Thanks, Eric |

You're going to get an endless list of everyone's favorites. I have a lot of amps and to my ears, the best "all around" is my silverface Twin 135. My favorite is my VHT Sig:X. The old tweeds and Standells are great for "period" stuff.
For recording, in my studio, I simply use my Revelation preamp, a Real Reverb, an old Macintosh 275, and mic the studio monitors, for the traditional stuff. |

These two schools of thought, you can either use a combo amp especially designed for PSG or a rack rig with external speaker cabinets
Both options have a huge amount of options - so good luck in your search

I recommend starting with a Peavey Nashville 112 for weight, tone, and price.

Or a string tied to a tomato can  ,maybe not.
Mr. Tommy White plays through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe I'm told.
I agree with Mrs.Karen,NV112 is a great amp,most guys have them beefed up by putting different IC chips in but even without it's still a great lil' amp. |

| Do not neglect the fact that a lot of steel pickers would be very, very happy with the amp that you already have. If you need more control over clean sounsd you can always replace the first preamp tube with a 12AT7 or 12AY7 to reduce front-end gain. |
