The nut is a rolled steel extension of the tuning pan. Does the nut become distorted from string tension? Is it useful to reinforce the nut, with say a round or shaped bar underneath?
Thanks-

Dina,

All of the Fender Dual Pro's that I have seen are made with the tuner pans and the nut out of one piece just bent and rounded over as you describe yours. I would say just play it and enjoy it. I have never noticed that being a problem mine.

The only problem I have noticed is the top of the strings at the nut are not all on the same plane.
When you have your bar at the first couple of frets you will need to apply a little more pressure or you may get some string rattle.
