Hello, does anyone know a good place to get replacement tuning key buttons for vintage regal lapsteel? It is from the early 50's ( i think ) and several of the buttons have deteriorated.

Stewart McDonald ( www.stewmac.com ) would be a good place to start.

Sound advice!
I also used Stew Mac do it yourself information on replacing buttons ( I have used all three colors: ebony, ivory and white.)
All info is on their website.
I have changed out the buttons on 4 vintage lap steels and have done it at a fraction of the cost. Great part is you keep the original tuner hardware.
Also got some nice binding there to replace binding on my 38 Epiphone model C.

John,

Just curious, does this mean that your tunings are a "toss of the dice"?
