Many of you may remember the old Steel Guitar World Magazine. One of the writers was Helmut Gragger, from Austria. I see he just joined the Forum.
Helmut is the person that coined the phrase "tampered tuning", which I have been using for years.

Lee,
thanks for the welcome and the roses. Just today stumbled over this message of yours.
I read the thread you are referring to and in retrospect, after some honing and shaping from life, I probably was not quite fair.
After all, whatever we seem to have accomplished as mankind, it is always unfinished, in a state of progress and imperfect by tomorrow´s perspective.
"Good" is a relative thing.
But it is good to hear that some people remember me after such a long time in silence.
All the best and thank you to everybody who contribute their best.

Howdy Helmut
Thanks for posting Lee - Revisiting some of these things, tuning, etc., is a good thing. I believe it'll help our instrument evolve in the long run! |
