I got a very nice used alumitone pick up and need some help with the wires. There are three - white - green and orange. Can someone explain were to solder these on the output jack terminals. Does it even matter what goes where?

Yes it matters, you will get a hum / buzz if they are reversed.
I hate to say it but you may be forced to read the instructions.
I read them when I installed mine after I got the buzz.
Don't recall off the top of my head but I like the pick up.
