Greetings all,
Does the use of a hand rest make pick-blocking easier, like the old wrist pads for computers I.E. lifting up your wrist so your fingers won't have to stretch?

Thank you!

My fingers don't require any "stretch" for pick blocking, since I use exactly the same right hand position and angle for either pick or palm blocking. Many times, rather than stretch my fingers to reach the outside strings, I move my whole hand forward.

IMHO, picking should be done from a very relaxed hand. If you're constantly stretching, tight, or tensed in any way, your hand will likely tire or cramp up more easily, and it may be harder to make everything flow like it should. I've noticed that "choppy" players often are very tensed up in both hands.
